Dear Colleagues, It is my great pleasure and my pride to host for Thailand the 1st international conference on learning & teaching and the international trade exhibition on educational equipment, media & technology, ICT and all related educational value chain and resources or in brief the “1st ICLT & EDUCA 2009”. The event is scheduled to be held during 15-17 October 2009, at the Bangkok International Trade Exhibition Center (BITEC), Thailand. The 1st ICLT & EDUCA2009 is co-hosted by the Consortium of Education Deans of Thailand, the Council of Education Deans of Thailand and the Illinois State University. As the host and co-hosts of this event, we have put all our efforts and expertise in developing the contents and activities to be the most meaningful to education leaders, educators, teachers, and education human resources. The main theme of the event is “Active Teachers, Active Learners, Active Learning” reflecting the innovative and creative learning & teaching process of this 21st century. From the fact that the development of education depend strategically on teachers’ professional development and that the quality of education system cannot exceed the quality of teachers, so the only way to improve outcomes is to improve instruction. From this rationale, 1st ICLT & EDUCA 2009 is staged to provide a platform for education community both government and private sectors to convene and share best practices of teaching profession, to develop the leadership and to improve the instructional outcome. The 1st ICLT & EDUCA 2009 is structured into seven activities comprising the international conference, international symposium, teachers’ CPD workshops, teachers’ Clinique, education showcase on active learning classroom, education innovation awards and international trade exhibition. We try to blend the integral elements of each activity to benefit and cover the interests of entire education value chain locally and globally.
