My personal life is not interesting. I don't mean that I am an especially deadly dinner companion, or that I have not had my fair share of life's joys and miseries. What I mean is that only my friends and family are interested in the more intimate details of my history; nobody reading this essay wants to know about my marital or health problems (or if you do, it's none of your business!).
