[Notes: The Thai word ราดยาง or ราดยางมะตอย means covering with either bitumen (a residue from ‘crude’ oil refining; their emissions are linked to respiratory effects : asthma, chronic bronchitis, etc.) or asphalt (a product or mixture of bitumen and ‘aggregates’: sand, stones, etc.). No rubber is included.]
Coal-Tar-Based Sealants Emitting PAHs at Rates Possibly Greater Than Auto Emissions https://scitechdaily.com/coal-tar-based-sealants-emitting-pahs-at-rates-possibly-greater-than-auto-emissions/
Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons PAHs are a class of organic compounds produced by incomplete combustion or high-pressure processes. PAHs form when complex organic substances are exposed to high temperatures or pressures. Often, PAHs consist of three or more fused benzene rings containing only carbon and hydrogen.
PAHs generally have a high degree of acute toxicity in humans. B. PAHs have been associated with increased incidences of lung, skin, and bladder cancers from occupational exposures.Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry - CDC https://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/csem/polycyclic-aromatic-hydrocarbons/health_effects.html
