Windows XP will be orphaned next April (2557) what can we do?
MIcrosoft has been withdrawing support for WinXP for a few years now. They see WinXP as the major block (for profit) that stops people buying Win7 and Win8. Next April MS will no longer support WinXP and many millions of older PCs will also be 'orphaned'.
What can we do to survive with WinXP?
No support means -- MS offers no fix, no upgrade, no solution, ... nothing to owners of WinXP. Users can continue to use WinXP -- install and run non-MS software as they have been (in facts many more non-Microsoft packages may be offerred -- at some cost). We can use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer; openOffice instead of Office; VLC instead of Media Player, ... start your collection now (if you plan to keep old or won't buy new computers). But be warned : You must get the best Anti-virus -malware -spam -etc for your protection and you must not whinge when you can't run a latest hit game/app that your friends boast about.
Alternatively you can get and install free O/S like CentOS, LinuxMint, Ubuntu and many other Linux distros. They will boost the performance of your old PCs and keep you up with many lattest technologies. You may need to adapt to a new environment and new friends (because you may lose some Windows friends and have to get closer to Linux freinds) but it will fun and you will be able to keep your old hardware for another year or two. (By then you will buy a tablet or a smartphone or some other wearable PCs much more capable than your old PC now and much cheaper too.-- )
But it is up to you. You can buy or wait. It is your money, your life, your decision -- you must make your choice and take the consequences ;-)
