แผ่นใส especially if made from LDPE and PET do break down and release micro- and nano- plastics (known to be carcinogens) into honey.

Another point to ponder: Insects including bees do get cancer (from plastics) and release cancerous wastes (aminoacids/proteins) –some short period of time before they die of old (insect) age. There are reports of plastic contaminated honey –everywhere in the world where there are plastic wastes (in bees’ range).

BTW. Back in 2024 there were studies of bees sniffing cancer as (early) diagnostic tool; no follow up though.
