Subject 29:

  • The Chaipattana Foundation was a vision by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej as the quicker way to response to the people problems than the government systematic and bureaucratic solutions. The foundation was established in 1988.
  • ML. Jirapan Taweewong, Deputy Secretary General, Office of the Royal Development Projects Board, the Chai Pattana Foundation gave the overview and examples of key royal projects.
  • For sustainable development,  cost effectiveness is emphasized instead of cost benefit.

Subject 30:

  • Talk at the Bank of Thailand consisting of 4 parts.
  • The world is not the same after World War II. Players are mainly US, Russia, China, North Korea. Seria, Qatar, and Taiwan are the strategic locations.
  • Disruptive technologies, gap in learning opportunities, education management, aging society and corruption are the challenges in this century.
  • Quality of graduates are getting poorer as well as teachers. The learning methods have to change. Reading and listening are the form of passive learning, while speaking and writing are the form of active learning.
  • What graduates needed for this century are 4C: Communication, Collaboration, Critical thinking and Creativity.

Subject 31:

  • KX is the knowledge exchange building that aims to support innovation platform for industry development.
  • Their services are innovation capability building program, productivities improvement program, HR development activities, accelerator program, co-working space, maker's space / fabrication lab, business plus, and technology market.
  • KMUTT was founded in 1960. In 2011, it was the 9th national research university. Today the university has 4 educational areas.
  • Roadmap 2020: 1) new approach to learning 2) S & T core capability and clustering 3) humanization 4) KMUTT policies 5) good governance & modern management 6) networking & resource utilization 7) internationalization
  • Accumulated income raised from 200 millions in 1998 to 5000 millions in 2017. KMUTT financial system does not stop in Aug - Sept. The residual budget can be kept. Procurement documents can use the advertised brochures.

Subject 32:

  • Unilever has been with Thai people for 84 years with 4,000 employees, 8 factories and an R&D center.
  • Omni Connect is a new Unilever networking project using internet and digital platform to connect clients and business partners.
  • PSU should create the platform to learn and connect to prospective students using social media or similar means. Students are still the key clients for PSU.
