I respect your generosity to share people with such your life story in US. Interestingly, such an event has also occurred to me currently as an international student. I find it is beneficial to know how culture shock influences Thai students. On the whole, there are four stages of the culture shock: 1. honeymoon, 2. hostile, 3. humor and 4. at home, respectively. I'm now somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd stage, even though I have been living in US for three years. So, I believe that getting through the culture shock is a time-required process. I also think everyone has his/her own secret of success in this business and conducting his/her life. There have been several approaches I am using to get my life without suffering too much on such a depression and homesickness. One of them is thinking I have a better opportunity than everyone else of studying here. Second, I study Dhamma and try to apply it for my daily life; this technique helps me a lot. Third, review the goal frequently and go for it.
