Manufacturing cost of these devices are very low. Only marketing strategies and 'profit margins' keep the unit price high.

Some ebooks will come at high cost and with strings of intellectual properties protection.

But, free ebooks are everywhere. Gotoknow.org has a good collection.

A search for 'free ebook' on the Net reveals millions.

What we need is some [free] ebook readers and reviewers who help separate 'good' from 'rubbish'.

[The same problem we also have in Gototknow.org -- 'good among rubbish' wastes resources [and time] and erodes the 'Gotoknow' brand. [Gotknow keepers know what I talk about ;-) ]
