Position: Interaction Designer, Platform

Responsibilities include:

- Create and be accountable for the user interaction model, workflows, information architecture, schematics, prototypes and interface guidelines for membership initiatives

- Facilitate communications across business unit UED leadership about new platforms solutions and proposals

- Set conceptual design and product directions based on field research and functional requirements including an understanding of cross-product issues and challenges

- Work with user experience researchers to design and observe usability studies and translates the findings into design improvements

- Collaborate with visual designers to refine the interactive experience and retain a user focus; visual design skills a plus

- Work hand in hand with web developers and engineers to deliver the final product

- Manage project communication and asset exchange across multidisciplinary team throughout all phases of projects

Minimum Job Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Factors, HCI, cognitive science, graphic design or related field

- At least 3+ years experience as a key member of user experience team participating in the complete product development lifecycle of several successfully

launched web and/or software applications

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Familiarity with field and lab-based usability research methodologies

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively

- Ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus

- Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems

- Must be process driven, demonstrate strong interaction design skills and have a solid understanding of user centered design principles and design patterns

- Ability to create prototypes at a variety of levels of fidelity

- Must have solid understanding of web application and website design with working knowledge of HTML

- Familiarity with the Windows and Macintosh Human Interface Guidelines a plus

- Passion for and understanding of design patterns and standards
