ผมมีความรู้สึกว่าเด็กไทยไม่ชอบถาม รวมทั้งผมเองด้วยในสมัยเด็กๆ ถามมากจนคุณครูว่า ถูกให้ไปยืนหน้าห้อง หลังจากนั้นก็ไม่กล้าถามอีกเลย เพิ่งมาถามเก่งตอนเรียนในระดับปริญญาตรี เป็นเพราะว่าได้อ่านหนังสือมากหรือเปล่าไม่ทราบ ทำให้เกิดคำถามอยู่เสมอ จนอาจารย์ Beeman บอกว่าผมเป็นเจ้าหนู จาไมจัง ตอนสอนนักเรียนและนักศึกษา ก็พบว่านักเรียนและนักศึกษาเราไม่ชอบถาม ตั้งใจฟัง ตาแป๋ว…จนเราไม่แน่ใจว่าเข้าใจหรือเปล่า…ทำอย่างไรที่จะให้นักศึกษาเราถามเก่งๆ…นี่น่าสนใจนะครับ ลองมาดูว่าถ้าอยากถามเป็นภาษาอังกฤษในกรณีที่เราตามไม่ทันหรือไม่เข้าใจ น่าจะพูดว่าอย่างไร

ผมก็เพิ่งเข้าใจเรื่อง how to properly use the word "could" จากข้อคิดเห็นข้างบนนี้น่ะครับ
แม้เป็นเรื่องพื้นฐาน แต่ผมไม่ทราบมาก่อนจริงๆ ครับ อยู่ที่นี่ก็พูดอย่างเดียว ผิดๆ ถูกๆ ไปตามเรื่องตามราวครับผม

a) used to say that something is possible or might happen:

Somebody could have been killed.

7 couldn't be better/worse/more pleased etc used to emphasize how good, bad etc something is:
Their lifestyles couldn't be more different.
'How are things?' 'Fine! Couldn't be better.'
Ordering on-line couldn't be simpler.
8 I couldn't British English spoken used to politely say that you do not want any more food or drink:
'Would you like another piece of pie?' 'Oh, no thanks, I couldn't.'
9 could do with something spoken to need or want something:
I could do with a hot drink.
