I am not feeling well today. I would like to take sick leave* today.
วันนี้รู้สึกไม่ค่อยดี อยากจะขอลาป่วยสักวัน
*ลาป่วย sick leave
โทรไปลาป่วย ว่า
call in sick
= to telephone work or school to say you are ill and will not be there I woke up with a terrible cold and had to call in sick last week.
You need to provide the HR a doctor's note* certifying the medical necessity for an absence.
หากลาป่วยคุณต้องมีใบรับรองแพทย์ส่งให้ฝ่ายบุคคล (Human Resources) ด้วย
*ใบรับรองแพทย์ a doctor's note/ statement, or medical certification

ส่วนลางาน หรือลาเพื่อกิจส่วนตัวนั้นเรียกว่า Personal leave
Employees must have advanced
permission to take personal leave.
ลูกจ้างต้องขออนุมัติลากิจล่วงหน้า
The employee must request the leave in writing at least 15 days prior to the start of the leave.
ลูกจ้างต้องขออนุมัติลากิจอย่างน้อย 15 วันก่อนวันเริ่มลา
เหตุของการลากิจ มีหลายประเภท เช่น เกี่ยวกับการทำธุรกรรมทางกฏหมาย เรื่องครอบครัว การศึกษา ศาสนา พิธีการต่างๆ อ่านรายละเอียดตามข้างล่างนี้ค่ะ
Personal leave can be used for the following reasons:
- Mandatory court appearance before a court of law and in a matter in which the employee is a party or whose presence is required. Such appearances would include, but are not limited to, criminal or civil cases, traffic court, divorce proceedings, custody proceedings, or appearing as directed as parent or guardian of juveniles.
- Legal or business matters which could not normally be conducted by an employee during hours other than normal scheduled work hours.
- Family emergencies of a nature that require an employee's immediate attention.
- Unusual family obligations which could not normally be conducted by an employee during hours other than normally scheduled work hours.
- Examinations such as medical, psychological, dental or optical examinations of the employee, or the employee's immediate family.
- Weddings of members of the immediate family.
- Religious holidays which fall on a normally scheduled work day for an employee.
- Any other matter of a personal nature.

* DEATH
1. Other than your own, this is no excuse for missing work. There
is nothing you can do for them, and we are sure that someone else
can attend to the arrangements. However, if the funeral can be held
in the late afternoon, we will be glad to allow you to work through
your lunch hour and subsequently let you leave 1 hour early,
provided your share of the work is ahead enough to keep the job
going in your absence.
กรณีตาย ไม่อนุญาตให้ลาไปร่วมพิธีศพของคนอื่นนอกจากของลูกจ้างเอง หากเป็นไปได้ควรจะเป็นช่วงบ่ายและน่าจะทำงานทุกอย่างให้เสร็จในช่วงมื้อเที่ยง
2. Your own: This will be accepted as an excuse. However, we require at least two weeks notice as we feel it is your duty to train your replacement.
