This research examines cities throughout the world based on their population size, the total number of individuals using the Internet and the percentage of individuals using the Internet. In the 2003 survey, data from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an organization affiliated with the United Nations (UN), was used to determine the 100 municipalities. Of 196 countries for which telecommunications data was reported, those with a total online population over 100,000 were identified. As a result, the most populated cities in 98 countries were selected to be surveyed ….”
